Sector index / Premises we assess
Industries served
A factory, a shopping centre and a clinic have different access problems. These are the sectors we work in most, and what an assessment usually covers in each.
- Role
- Assessment & advisory only
Sector register
Property developers
Circulation strategy, entrances, cores and sanitary provision on drawings, then the built result before handover.
Design review at planning stage, and audits of completed developments before handover.
Commercial landlords
Common areas, lobbies, lifts and lettable space, with tenant-controlled areas recorded separately.
Existing-premises assessment of common areas, then a ranked findings register to plan works with tenants.
Factories and industrial
Circulation routes, welfare facilities, workstations and site approach in production and warehouse environments.
Existing-premises assessment of the operating site, then an improvement plan phased around production.
Retail and hospitality
Shopfronts, thresholds, counters, changing rooms, guest rooms and back-of-house routes used by staff.
Multi-site assessment across a store or hotel portfolio, with one consolidated findings register.
Public-facing businesses
Entrance approach, waiting areas, service counters, washrooms and wayfinding for visiting members of the public.
Existing-premises assessment of the public route, from entrance to counter, for clinics, schools, banks and offices.
Disability organisations and NGOs
The full route through the premises, checked against the needs of the people the organisation serves.
Whole-journey assessment for NGOs and service providers, prioritised around the people they serve.
Sectors are listed to show where we work, not to imply named clients. What is examined at your premises is set at scoping and recorded in the report.
Where most projects start
Whatever the sector, one of three situations is usually the reason for the first call.
-
B.1
Premises already in use
The building operates every day and nobody has checked the access route end to end, or a complaint or board question has made it urgent.
Usually → An existing-premises assessment.
-
B.2
Drawings on the table
A fit-out or new build is still in design, and access needs to be resolved before tender rather than after handover.
Usually → A design-stage review.
-
B.3
Several premises at once
A portfolio or estate where leadership needs one comparable picture instead of separate, inconsistent reports.
Usually → A multi-site assessment.
Send a short brief on the premises and project stage, and we will reply with scoping questions before any work is proposed.
